Abstract (EN)

This study aims to develop a combined wireless ECG and respiration monitoring system employing IEEE 802.15.6 WBAN standard. As this study aims to transfer measurements acquired in 16 bits resolution at 500 Hz sampling rate to a nearby gateway device with low latency and high reliability, it is more qualified compared to other similar works. Remote patient monitoring system is an essential part of the telemedicine applications; and it is expected to save significant amount of medicine as well as reduction of work load required for patient treatments. Although rare, telemedicine applications that are implemented at the moment with basic health information (heart rate, motion, blood sugar) has already been improving patients' life quality and providing a level of attention that was only available in intensive care units. Therefore, health care industry requires a restructuring and creation of new remote patient tracking centers. In this study, Texas Instruments ADS1292R Analog Frontend chip is used in ECG and respiration acquisition circuit along with a ST Microelectronics STM32 ARM microcontroller. System employs a wireless communication system based on IEEE 802.15.6 standard which is created as part of the TUBITAK 114E452 project. Results show that, system is ready for industrialization as a next step.
