Abstract (EN)
Aim: This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between socıal gender roles and early maladaptive schemas scheme counting strategies and body ımage coping strategies in women. Method: Our study group contains 1000 individuals who lives in Istanbul city and volunteered into this research. Personal İnformation Form, Gender Roles Attitude Scale, Young Schema Scale, Body İmage Coping Strategies Scale, Young Avoidance Scale and Young Compensation Scale were used. The data obtained with the data collection tools were entered into the computer as a numerical expression. The obtained data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 package program. Results: A positive relationship was found between the traditional attitude and the emotional deprivation, social ısolation / ınsecurity, abandonment, and ımperfection schemes. Imperfection was found to be negatively correlated between emotional deprivation and abandonment and egalitarian attitude. In our study, a positive relationship was found between the traditionalist attitude and failure, vulnerability against threats andnesting / addiction schemes. Also a positive correlation was found between the traditional attitude and the Approval Seeking and Self Sacrifice schemes. But no relation was found between these schemes and egalitarian attitude. A positive relation was found between the traditional attitude and punishment, suppression of emotions, high standards and pessimism schemes. The emotion suppression and pessimism schemes were negatively related to the egalitarian attitude. As the gender roles sub-dimension increases the egalitarian attitude, positive logical acceptance and appearance correction scores increase and avoidance scores decrease. As the traditional attitude scores increase, the appearance correction and avoidance scores increase. In our study, failure, abandonment, social ısolation / ınsecurity, seeking approval, seizure against vulnerabilities, which is the sub-dimension of young schema scale, positively predicted correcting the appearance of high standards. It seems to be a significant predictor of highest standards, seeking approval, and correcting the appearance of failure. Failure, intertwining / dependence, abandonment, imperfection, pessimism, social isolation / insecurity, suppression of emotions, approval seeking, threat against threats, high standards, emotional deprivation, which are the sub-dimensions of Young schema scale, positively predict avoidance. It was determined that the schemes of imperfection, abandonment, suppression of emotions, and vulnerability in the face of threats were more significant predictors of avoidance. Social Isolation, abandonment, punishment, privilege / insufficient self-control, which are the sub-dimensions of Young schema, were found to be a significant predictor of positive logical acceptance. But the effect of abandonment, punishment, privilege / insufficient self-control was positive. The effect of social isolation was negative. Conclusion: Within the scope of the results of the study, it was found that gender was effective in the formation of early adaptation schemes and the studies conducted in the literature were supported.
