Abstract (EN)

Objective: The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the association between perceived social support and post traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety and stress with cancer patients. Methods: Fifty volunteer patients who were treated with cancer in Haydarpasa Numune Education and Research Hospital were included in the study. The data was obtained by means of Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support Scale, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Question Form (SCID I), Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS). Results: Participants who got higher score from perceived social support scale were significantly found lower score in DASS (r=-0,592; r=-0,419). Perceived social support score was found lower participants who were diagnosed PTSD compared to the weren't diagnosed with PTSD. In addition, the scores of DASS were higher in the PTSD diagnosed group (p<0,05).
