Abstract (EN)

Noise is a factor that bothers people and the environment, as well as harm human health. Today, it has become more pronounced due to the rapidly increasing population in big cities. Although there are various noise sources, the share of noise from transportation is higher than other sources. Road transport causes the highest noise among transport modes. These noises; They are caused by the driver, the vehicles or the properties of the coatings. Various studies are carried out to reduce the noise caused by the coatings. In this study, the effects of different road coverings on noise were investigated. There are various road paving applications with a noise reduction effect. Nowadays, these coatings have gained more importance because the noise level is increasing day by day. Within the scope of this thesis, the sources of noise, the effects of noise on people and the environment, noise measurement and estimation methods were investigated, the noise generation mechanisms in highway pavements were explained and the evaluation of stone mastic asphalt, porous asphalt and densely graded asphalt pavements in terms of noise was presented as a literature study.
