Abstract (EN)

The thesis entitled "The Early Bronze Age Pottery of Keçiçayırı" covers the potteries of the EB II and EB III that were recovered during the salvage excavations at Keçiçayırı between 2006 and 2009. There is a relatively small amount of pottery from the EB III period, so the study mainly focuses on the EB II pottery. Wares, vessel forms and decorations from EB II are first introduced and statistically evaluated; therafter, the place of this pottery in the west Anatolian EBA Chronology and its relationship with the pottery zones in the region are discussed by way of comparison with the Demircihüyük, Küllüoba, Karaoğlan Mevkii and Kaklık Mevkii sites in the immediate vicinity. The single- phased Keçiçayırı EB II settlement is synchronized with Küllüoba IVC-IVB and Demircihüyük N-P levels and thus dated to the late EB II period. The EB III pottery is, on the other hand, synchronized with the Küllüoba II E-D levels defined as "Proto-Transitional Period."
