Abstract (EN)

As consequence of increasing construction, decrease in urban open spaces and opportunities these spaces offer men have underlined the need for and the prominence of such spaces. In spite of the need for and prominence of urban open spaces emphasized by various research studies, it is a fact that people do not use these urban spaces as much as they are desired to be used. This study focused on why many activity wity the quality to meet the needs of their probable users, and the organizations to hold activities for people in such spaces do not derive the desirable interest from the public. The study, dealing with how the designed and ready-for-use spaces were veiwed by through the lenses of their users after they were in use, also dwelt on the users assessments of the urban open spaces they used before. The present study, aiming to measure the performance level of urban open spaces which differ from one onother in terms of their physical organizations and features, and increase the user satisfaction and improve their performance level, was conducted in the coastal line of Trabzon. It was found that the reserch model devised by the study influenced the performance level and the ferquency of use of these spaces and the user satisfaction in a posive way. It was concluded that place with a high performance were preferred more and these spaces
