Abstract (EN)

When the abundancy of landslide and dams in the Black Sea Region is considered, this region is susceptible as to destructive results of impulse waves induced by mass-movements in the reservoirs of those dams. In this doctorate thesis study, the investigation and calculation of wave height, arriving time to the across shore at a distance of 571 m and to the dam body at a distance 731 m of impulse waves which may occur as a result of mass-movements on the slope of the Torul Dam lake on the Harşit stream in Kirazlık village in the Torul district of Gümüşhane province under different scenario and using various empirical equations and two dimensions numerical analysis were aimed. In order to complete this study, firstly, the analysis reports included geological and geotechnical assessment of paleo-landslide drilling performed by 22nd Regional Directorate for State Hydraulic Works (DSI) results were gone through. Then, geophysical measurements were applied to determine the horizontal and vertical continuity of paleo-landslide derived materials and features of those materials. To determine the index features and strength parameters of landslide materials, disturbed and undisturbed samples collected from test pits were analysed. Stability analyses were performed by using 2 dimensions numerical analyse for especially earthquake circumstances. The location of the possible sliding circle was determined, numerical stability analysis was used to forecast the thickness of material which flow into the resorvior under different scenario conditions. Finally, the impulse waves which may occur in the reservoir were modelled by using 2D and 3D empirical equations and 2D numerical analyses.
