Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to reveal what adolescents under the age of 18 with a diagnosis of Chronic Kidney Failure experienced, what emotions they felt during the diagnosis process, and how the disease affected their lives.The research was conducted based on the phenomenological approach included in the qualitative research design.Research data were collected at the Health Sciences University HaydarpaĢa Numune Training and Research Hospital Pediatric Nephrology Outpatient Clinic between 18 February 2022 and 1 May 2023.By using the Criterion Sampling method in the selection of the sample, 10 people with a diagnosis of Chronic Renal Failure who applied to the Pediatric Nephrology Outpatient Clinic participated.The MAXQDA 2022 program was used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the analysis, three main themes were obtained: Experiences Before Illness, Experiences During the Illness Process and Exceptation for the Future. As a result, a better understanding of how adolescents under the age of 18agedwith a diagnosis of Chronic Kidney Failure perceive their illness and the phenomenological effects of their daily life experiences has been provided.
