The effect of library interior design on students' course studies: The case of Afyon Kocatepe University Prof. Dr. Şehabettin Yiğitbaşı Library

Today, with the development of technology, the use of physical books and other resources is decreasing. It has become more important to provide a quiet environment for students to study and read books, which is one of the main purposes of university libraries. Therefore, the interior design of university libraries should be designed to meet the needs of students and make them feel comfortable. In this study, "The Effect of Design of University Libraries on Students' Study Psychology" was investigated. In this direction; Of all, the origin of the word library, the emergence and development of libraries and library types are examined. University libraries were emphasized, design criteria of university libraries and comfort conditions in design were investigated. An answer was sought to the question of how the sections and designs of university libraries should be. Examples of university library design in the world and in Turkey are examined.The effects of library design factors on human psychology were examined to better understand the effect of university library design on students' study psychology.The purpose, importance, hypotheses, scope, limitations and method of the research are stated. Then the current interior design of Afyon Kocatepe University Prof. Dr. Şehabettin Yiğitbaşı Library, which is the subject of the research, is examined. Afterwards, the results of the questionnaire form applied to examine the effect of library interior design on students' course studies and the findings of the research are examined.
