Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to design a learning environment which aims to develop the relation of mathematics with other disciplines (Science-Turkish) by using interdisciplinary mathematical modeling problems taken from real life and to determine its effects. This research, in which multi-tiered teaching experiment was used, was carried out with 3 teachers (Mathematics, Science, Turkish) and nine (9) 7th grade students from a school in a city center of a East Anatolia. The research data consisted of semi-structured interviews with the teachers, the written answers given by the students in the application process of the problems and the video recordings including the students 'voice thinking in the solution process, the observations made by the researcher during the application process, and the reports of the participants' development. In the data analysis, design research method was used within the scope of multi-tiered teaching experiment and continuous comparative analysis, open, axial and selective coding was used. As a result of the analysis, themes that define interdisciplinary learning and mathematical modeling processes have been formed. In the findings of the research, it was determined that teaching with interdisciplinary modeling problems improved students' interdisciplinary concept learning and mathematical reasoning, positively influenced attitudes towards disciplines, and that such problems should be included in the curriculum.
