Abstract (EN)
Human performs abstraction, which is a fictional and instinctive action, in order to comprehend the incidents and phenomena of the environment they live in. Abstraction moves human from essential knowledge of the incidents and phenomena and rather than drawing them away from the real, it actually draws human near the real. This is because; the abstraction is indeed a method or a means, used to reach the concrete again and to perceive the concrete whole within its parts and within the relations between these parts. In this context, in order for the architect to make original designs and to propose pragmatic solutions, it is regarded that abstraction should be performed consciously. As a result of the researches it is determined that architectural students, gain a differentiation in perception and therefore the architectural education is somehow directive and distinctive. For this reason, in the thesis, it is tried to analyze the differences of the perception and expression of abstraction; changes occurring through abstractions among architectural students. In this respect, the paper is structured upon three sections. Firstly, the concept of abstraction in general and such concepts as abstract and concrete are defined. The relationship between abstraction and architecture is also defined. Secondly, detailed in the aim of monitoring the change in abstraction performed by the individuals who receive the architectural education, a pilot research mainly based on the concept of ?house? is organized. Consequently in the last part, results are processed to obtain and expose the decisive research. In the light of the consciousness to be given to the architectural students, it is considered that abstraction shall bring out essential, creative and original designs, which increase the creativity of the designer and also present various options for the users.Key Words: Architectural Education, Abstract, Abstraction, Perception.
