Differenciation of exposure to mobbing according to demographic characteristics: A case of private and public school in Kilis provice

Abstract (EN)

Mobbing phenomenon, originating from 1960's, has become a constantly mentioned topic in recent years. It was defined as a concept which can happen at any stage of people's life and it can have devastating effects on people. In this study; by comparing the data which were collected from private and public school employees, it was tried to find out employees exposed to mobbing in terms of demographic characteristics. A questionnaire was used to collect data from 170 employees of private and randomly chosen public schools in the city of Kilis. As a result of analyses, it was found out that there is a difference according the social perception of attack, which is a sub-dimension of mobbing differs according to sex, work status of spouse and institutional type. Perception of showing oneself and affecting communication formation which is a sub-dimension of mobbing differs according to work condition of spouse and work experience. Perception of attack to person's life quality and occupational status which is a sub-dimension of mobbing differs according to number of children. Perception of attack directly to one's health which is a sub-dimension of mobbing differs according to age groups. According to the results general mobbing perpection differs according to the number of children owned, monthly income level, work condition of spouse.
