Abstract (EN)

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a demyelinating neurodegenerative disease characterized by myelin loss and sclerotic plaque formation in the central nervous system. Although its etiology is not fully known, it is more common in middle-aged people. It is most common in women compared to men, with a prevalence of 20-40 years. The one-minute sit-to-stand test (SST) is an easy-to-apply, safe, and inexpensive scale used to measure lower extremity functionality. Ambulation problems are frequently encountered in MS due to lower extremity involvement and secondary general body involvement. MS patients have difficulty during high-intensity exercises and long-term functional tests due to their rapid fatigue. Therefore, short-term tests should be selected when measuring the functional levels of these patients. No study using SST in MS patients has been found in the current literature. Therefore, the validity and reliability level of the SST scale, which will facilitate the measurement of the functionality of MS patients, will be tested in this study.
