Abstract (EN)
Uzunçayır Dam, established on Munzur and Pülümür Rivers polluted by liquid wastes in Tunceli province, has been active. This study was aimed to reveal the pollution potential of the pollutants (domestic wastes, liquid waste, leachate from the irregular solid waste site of the city, elements washed from the rocks, etc.), discharged to the dam lake. Analyzes of water samples from Munzur and Pülümür Rivers before and after the discharge point of household liquid wastes, from various points and depths of the dam reservoir, from the exit of dam bend site and from Keban Dam reservoir reveals the dimensions of heavy metal pollution in river and lake water. 10 research stations have been determined considering pre-dam, dam reservoir and after-dam areas of Munzur and Pülümür Rivers and Uzunçayır Dam Lake and the coordinates of the sampled area of each station have been determined by GPS. For determination of water quality class of Munzur and Pülümür Rivers and Uzunçayır dam, the heavy metal levels (Zn, Cr, Cu, Cd, Mn, Pb and Fe) of taken samples from determined station were obtained analytically using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy.
