Abstract (EN)

Exercise addiction, as seen in other types of addiction, can cause negative health conditions on the physical and mental health of the person. It is thought that it will be useful to learn the exercise addiction levels of the young people who study in our country and who do not continue their education, especially the students studying at Munzur University, to prevent the situations caused by exercise addiction and to raise awareness about taking the necessary precautions. The aim of this study is to examine the exercise addiction levels of Munzur University students in terms of various dynamics. The population of the study consists of 5727 students who continue their associate and undergraduate education at Munzur University, and the sample is 328 students (180 females and 148 males) who voluntarily participated in the study. As a method of obtaining data; The "Exercise Addiction Scale-21" developed by Hausenblas and Symons Downs (2002) was used together with the questionnaire form in which the personal information of the volunteer participants was asked. The Turkish adaptation, reliability and validity study of the questionnaire was carried out by Yeltepe and İkizler (2007). SPSS-25 package program was used to analyze the data. In the study, there was no significant difference between exercise addiction for students according to age, height and weight, and male-female differentiation (p>0.05). However, there was a significant difference between variables such as chronic disease, type of sport, educational status and exercise addiction for students in the study (p<0.05). As a result, it was seen that exercise addiction is not common among Munzur University students. It is thought that informing students about exercise addiction, raising awareness and taking the necessary precautions will be beneficial in terms of reducing the risk of exercise addiction. It is thought that applying similar studies to different university students will be useful in terms of explaining the general situation well. Keywords: Addiction, sport, exercis.
