Mustafapasa, Aios Konstantinos and Eleni church restoration proposal

In this study Aios Konstantinos and Eleni Church located in Mustafapasa village in Ürgüp town of Nevsehir province was chosen as study subject. Preparation of restoration proposal was aimed to investigate historical process, authenticate current situation and sustain by protecting of the structure. To evaluate thesis subject of the church, observation, interview, area work, institute achieve work, documentation and literature work were conducted. Formerly known as Sinasos, Mustafapasa village, besides located in Cappadocia province Greek, Orthodox, Armenian and Muslims lived together until mid 20th century. With the population exchange in 1924, non-muslim public left the province. With this exchange, the church which is subject of this thesis lost the function. This thesis consists of eight chapters including introduction chapter. At the first chapter of the study, aim, scope, limitations, place in literature, material and method of the thesis were mentioned. At second chapter, general definition, historical and physical characteristic of Cappadocia region was mentioned. At third chapter, church structure, section and architectural elements were referred. At fourth chapter, the location of Mustafapasa village where the subject church of the thesis is located and at historical process, the situation of the village before and after the population exchange in 1924 was mentioned. At fifth chapter, survey work and authorization of the church which is subject of the thesis was mentioned. At sixth chapter, in the context of restitution work, historical process and comparative study were mentioned. At seventh chapter, together with analyses for restoration work, proposals were tried to develop. At eighth chapter, conclusion and proposal part were presented.
