The factors affecting individual playing piano habits of students at the department of education of fine arts and the program teaching music

The research aims to find out the factors affecting individual playing piano habits of students at the department of Education of Fine Arts and the Program of Teaching Music. The purpose of this study is to determine the negativenesses affecting on the students of the Program of Teaching Music come acrossing the course of their studies of playing piano and recommend suggestions which aim to terminate those negativenesses. In the study, questionnaire method was used which is in the tradition of quantitative research. In the questionnaire, there were 25 questions, one of which was semi-structured. The questionnaire was carried out on the students who were in the second and third classes at the Department of Fine Arts and Teaching Music Programs in Gazi University, Gazi Faculty of Education in Ankara, Marmara University, Atatürk Faculty of Education in İstanbul and Blacksea Tecnical University Fatih Faculty of Education in Trabzon. The research revealed the factors affecting the students' habits and studies of playing piano individually which were apart from lessons and their attitudes against the lessons of playing piano. In the last chapter of the study, some suggestions were made in order to erase the problems determined by the research. Key Words : Music, Education, Piano vn
