Abstract (EN)

This study aims to examine the effects of music education on the cognitive, socio-emotional, language, and motor development of children aged 0-6. It is believed that music education during early childhood contributes positively to children's developmental processes, supporting their mental, social, and physical development. The study analyzes the existing findings by reviewing scientific studies conducted in Turkey and around the world on this topic. The research methodology is based on a literature review, examining studies related to music education conducted in various countries. The findings from the literature show that music education enhances children's cognitive skills, such as attention, memory, and problem-solving, strengthens their social skills through group activities, and supports their language development. Additionally, music education is observed to be an important tool for improving children's fine and gross motor skills. The results of the study demonstrate that music education provides significant contributions to children's overall developmental processes. It is emphasized that music education, which has positive effects on cognitive, socio-emotional, language, and motor development, should be more widely implemented during early childhood. Furthermore, the importance of expanding music education practices in Turkey and ensuring that children in rural areas have access to this education is highlighted. Music education plays a significant role in children's development, and its widespread implementation during early childhood can provide lasting contributions to their overall developmental processes. Considering the impact of music education on cognitive, socio-emotional, language, and motor development, it is crucial to ensure broader access to this educational model. Expanding music education practices in Turkey, particularly in rural areas, could enhance equal opportunities and better support children's development.
