Abstract (EN)

The real name of Nergisî, who was born in Saraybosna, in the first half of the 17th century, is Mehmed. Nergisî, who served as a judge and lecturer in many places, lost his life after falling off a horse, while going to the Revan campaign as a chronicler appointed by Murat IV.He had become famous for his works written in ornate-prose, in 17th century. The writer is the only one who has prose quinary, khamsa, in our literature. The work we study on is İksîr-i Sa?âdet, which is one of the works in Nergisî?s Khamsa. The writer translated this work from the work named Kimyâ-yı Sa?âdet of Imam Gazâli.This master?s thesis includes three chapters. First chapter contains information about the writer?s life, literary personality and works. In the second chapter, it has been provided information about the work. The last chapter consists of critical text of the work and the Index.
