Abstract (EN)
The study was planned as a descriptive, cross-sectional study to determine the type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular risk and healthy living awareness of office workers. It was conducted between 04.10.2023 and 17.01.2024 with 161 employees of a private company. Data were obtained with the Patient Information Form, Finnish Diabetes Risk Score, Cardiovascular Disease Risk Awareness Assessment Scale and Healthy Living Awareness Scale, and evaluated using the SPSS 22.0 statistical program. In our study, it was evaluated that 40.4% of the office workers were between the ages of 31-40, 56.5% were male, 64.0% were married, 53.4% were university graduates, 78.9% did not have a chronic disease, 35.4% had first-degree relatives with heart disease, 22.6% of those who used regular medication used blood pressure medication, and 51.6% were normal weight or below. The average diabetes risk of the workers was determined as 9.87±4.55, the average cardiovascular disease risk was 5.44±1.58, and the average healthy life awareness was 58.87±6.35. A positive high correlation was found between diabetes risk, cardiovascular disease risk awareness and healthy life awareness with socialization (r=0.73), responsibility (r=0.75), and nutrition with the total score of healthy life awareness (r=0.70). When the differentiation status of healthy living awareness scores according to descriptive characteristics was evaluated, it was found that men's change, responsibility, and nutrition scores were lower than women's total scores. As a result, it was seen that employees' diabetes and cardiovascular disease risk awareness was at a moderate level, healthy living awareness varied according to gender and age, and healthy living habits were effective in reducing disease risks.
