Abstract (EN)

Vocabulary which has important role in acquiring and presenting linguistic skills covers words and word groups. The main aim of the Turkish courses in middle schools is; is to provide cultural transmission and social communication through the effective use of linguistic skills by students. Listening and reading are employed in developing passive vocabulary whilst speaking and writing are employed in developing active vocabulary. Purpose of the research is to show effects of reading agenda on middle school students' behaviors towards developing vocabulary and their academic success'. Quasi experimental design method which is commonly used in educational areas is employed in this research. For this purpose a reading agenda technique developed by the researcher is applied on 5th grade students for 8 weeks. For data collection, Behavior Scale Towards Developing Vocabulary developed by the researcher and students' grades at the beginning and at the end of the term are used. At the end of the research, it is observed that the reading agenda tecnique developed by the researcher has possitive effects on students' behaviors towards developing vocabulary and their academic successes.
