Comparing adjuvant caf - docetaxel and cef - docetaxel treatment in operated early stage breast cancer

Adjuvant chemotherapy prolongs disease-free and overall survival in early stage breast cancer. Anthracyclines, taxanes and targeted biological drugs have increased the effectiveness of adjuvant therapy. There are plenty of optıons for use of anthracylines and taxanes schema. There is no sufficient knowledge about how these options can be modified.In Operated early stage breast cancer, as adjuvant therapy compared to patients treated with CAF-Docetaxel and CEF-Docetaksel. The study evaluated 209 patients with stage I-III.CAF-D of 158 patients, 51 patients received chemotherapy in the CEF-D. The mean age of 48.8 years (range 24 ile73), 108 patients (51.7%) were premenopausal and 101 (48.3%) were postmenopozal. The majority of patients, 177 (84.7%) group consisted of patients with axillary lymph node-positive. Adjuvant hormonal therapy was used in 77.5% of the patients. Grade 1-2 neutropenia due to chemotherapy was observed in 22 patients, while grade 3-4 neutropenia was observed in 13 patients. All of 6 patients, observed febrile neutropenia, were in CAF-D patient group. During follow-up of a total of 8 (3.8%) was observed at recurrence, while 7 patients (7/158, %4.4) with recurrent were in CAF-D, 1 patient (1/51, 2.0%)was in CEF-D group.Although the number of events in patients with very few, 28.4-month median follow-up period has been completed and it was over the first 24-month median follow-up when breast cancer recurrence is common. The present findings, although not statistically significant compared to CEF-D group, the CAF-D is a recurrence rate higher and there is a tendency to lower disease free survival.
