Problems and solutions encountered in the integration of ITC into secondary education learning and teaching process

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the problems the teachers and school administrators faced, and according to their views, the revealed solutions by describing the existing situation of the integration of Information and Communication Technologies into learning and teaching processes. In the scope of this research by using qualitative case study, the data collection process was conducted with teachers and administrators working in three high schools in Antalya in which the FATİH Project was completed. The data were gathered by the document analysis, field observation, interview schedules and Questionnare of ICT Usage of Teachers. In the analysis of data, simple descriptive statistical techniques were used. According to results acquired from research, teachers thought that they gained access to ICT hardwares adequately. It was understood that school administrators thought they provided enough institutional support to be used ICT and had high expectations in this regard. The problems about integration ICT with instruction were related to the usefullness of smart board and tablets, selection of appropriate materials and students' tablets misuse. In accordance with this data, resolution of technical problems arising ICT equipments, being made changes about curriculum and professional development programs, raising awareness of shareholders were suggested.
