Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to determine the awareness levels of the 5th-8th grade secondary school students participating in the research in terms of different variables (gender, class level, family income status, place of residence). Cluster sampling method was used to determine the study group of the research. The study group of the research consisted of 11 students in 5-8th grade in Aksaray Province. A total of 1178 (632 girls; 546 boys) secondary school students studying in the 5th-8th grades in Aksaray. The survey model was used in the study. 'Recycling Awareness Scale' was used as the data collection tool. SPSS 22 programme was used for data analysis. In the light of the findings obtained from the research, it was determined that the awareness levels of the secondary school students participating in the research did not differ according to the class level and the place of residence variable. When the gender variable was examined, the recycling awareness level of female students was positively significant compared to male students. When the family income status was analysed, it was determined that the average scores of students with high and medium family income showed a significant difference compared to students with low family income. In the light of these findings, the number of studies conducted at different grade levels and in different regions can be increased to determine the awareness levels of students about recycling.
