Abstract (EN)

Chipped stone artifacts tradition has a very important role to understand the way of life and technology of prehistoric communites. The main subject of the thesis covers chipped stone industry and raw material resources during the daily life of human communities with different locations, eating habits to understand to what extent they benefit from the supply of raw materials within the vicinity. Master's thesis topic is "The Chipped Stone Industry and Raw Material Sources of Chalcolithic Period Settlements in Porsuk Valley and It's Vicinity ", specifically called Porsuk Valley and the Porsuk Çayı laid with the Chalcolithic period settlements like Kanlıtaş Höyük, Orman Fidanlığı, Keskaya and Aslanapa. "Porsuk Culture" which covers these prehistoric settlements has been christened for the first time in northwestern Anatolia by Prof. Dr. Turan Efe from Istanbul University. Chipped re-evaluation of the tools of settlements with the aim of understanding the tradition of chipped stone settlement contained in this culture; Kanlıtaş excavation project, such as what kind of relationship among the settlements had made contact with each other. Besides, raw material usage density within the settlements What kind of tools raw materials from which they were determined, were discussed. Based on these raw materials, the similarities and differences of the chipped stone tools types have been studied and tried to represnt. In this context, supplies and raw materials detected around the settlements with the analysis of samples taken from the production debris that were found to understand the raw material sources used in these settlements to which extent. In the first part of the study, provided information on the geography and the geomorphology of the region. In addition to that general characteristics of Chalcolithic chipped stone artifacts and technology within a separate terminology part were discussed. In the second part of the purposes mentioned above, classification of chipped stone artifacts such as the settlements, Kanlıtaş Mound, Orman Fidanlığı, Keskaya, Aslanapa and which creates the Porsuk culture. The relevant settlements has been visited again by myself with Museum staff . The second section discusses the sources of raw materials uncovered in the survey conducted around these settlements. In the third part of the study, the chipped stone industries between ongoing excavations by Ali Umut Türkcan (Anadolu University Archeology Department) in Kanlıtaş and again excavated before the Istanbul University by Turan Efe from the Archeology Department the Orman Fidanlığı settlements have been discussed in detail Besides detected by earlier surveys Keskaya, with chipped finds the Aslanapa settlement have already been assessed. In the fourth part of the study, situated survey with those obtained from the raw material source which have been detected around settlements with samples again with the production waste. These samples have been analysed by XRF method done in Anadolu University Materials Engineering Department. This analysis with raw material supply through a detailed analysis of data obtained-settlement relations have been studied by us to provide the most accurate and focused on trying to clear results with comparisons. In the fifth chapter in the form of chipped stone industry raw material supply and relations with other regions, have been tried to put out the similarities and differences as an overall assessment of the settlements located in Porsuk Valley, In line with scientific recommendations based on the data, this is the settlement of the existence of many sources of raw materials, including revealed that of the surrounding material sources consumed heavily by in particular the mound Kanlıtaş . Above all, according to our data along with former predictive hypothesis, data from the analysis revealed the raw material used or exchanged between these period settlement which have been stated as in the beginning. Key Words: Early Chalcolithic, Chipped stone Raw Materials, XRF, Porsuk Culture, Anatolia-Balkan
