Analysis of the relation between factors motivating high school students who are playing football for recreative purpose and conceit respect

Purpose of this study The research of the relationship between elements that motivate high school students playing soccer for recreational purposes and self-esteem is the evaluation of the findings. The study constitutes 9-10-11 and 12th grade high school students studying in the schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. A total of 650 students including 346 volunteer male students and 304 female students participated in the study by using the random sampling method. The survey used as a data collection tool in the study consists of 3 parts. In the first part, a personal information form is used to identify the participants' personal information. In the second part, Coopersmith self esteem scale developed by Stanley Coopersmith in 1986 is included. The third part is included the Sports Participation Motivation Scale developed by Gill, Gross and Huddleston in 1983. SPSS 20 package program was used to analyze the findings obtained in the study. Percentage, frequency and cross-tabulation methods were used to determine the distributions of personal information of the participants. T test was used to determine the difference between the variables. Tukey's HSD multiple comparison test was used as the second-degree test, while one-way anova was used to determine meaningful difference. The level of significance in the study was taken as P <0,5. As a result of the statistical analyzes, there was no statistically significant difference between participant motivation and personal characteristics of recreational activities (p> 0,05). As a result, there was no significant difference between self-esteem and motivation levels among participating individuals. Keywords: Self Respect, Recreative, Football, Motivation, Leisure
