Abstract (EN)
RFID technology is one of the technologies which rapidly growing and having considerably usage areas today.In financial sector application Mifare technology is mostly used. We face this technology especially in public transport, bank, dining hall e.c. where fee is paid offline.In this thesis, building a Mifare reader and improving Mifare reader performance by dealing with two main problem of this technology is discussed.First problem is that during contactless card detection in battery-powered system overly power consumption. The second problem is the card reading and writing reliability. Because contactless cards are hold from human hands in free, it is impossible to fix them. Therefore in some case in read or write operation, the contactless card leaves the operating distance. In this case card information can not be read properly or it cannot be known weather the write operation is successful or not. In this thesis solutions methods of the problems mentioned above are considered.Key Words: RFID, Mifare, Contactless Card, Contactless Card Reader, Mifare Reader, ISO 14443
