Investigation of the source, event and impact relationship that constitute the risk of sports facilities in sports injuries

Abstract (EN)

Despite the positive effects of sport on human health, sports injuries are very common. Physical and psychological consequences in addition to high costs makes prevention of injury a priotity. Identifying the physical condition dependent risk factors of sports facilities is a crucial step in injury prevention. Sports organisations and businesses also have to consider and manage the risk management and risk management elements. Determining the sources of risk of sports injuries due to physical conditions in sports facilities used for recreational and examining the adequacy of the auditing criteria for these risk sources of public institutions and establishments where the facilities are connected. Between the years of 2015-2018 the T.C. Ministry of Health Hitit University Erol Olcok Education and Research Hospital physical therapy, emergency and orthopedics clinics between the ages of 18-45 who applied to sports recreational and health persons were determined. It was learned from which sports facilities the individuals used. With the data obtained, the risk, source, event and effect of risk were evaluated.The regulation and inspection criteria of the public institutions and organizations where the sports facilities are connected were examined. The average age of 33 is 1565 sedentary (65.8%), amateur (26.3%) and professional (7.9%)45.8% of individuals were working in the public sector. 62.4% of the individuals were injured in the carpet field, 15.3% in the fitness center, 12.2% in the indoor sports hall, 6.7% in the outdoor sports area and 3.4% in the municipal cultural center. On average, 30 (29,72) days lost work force. The highest injury rates in the lower extremity (19.5% ACL rupture, 5.5% Achilles rupture, 16.6% ankle sprain, 13.3% meniscus, 2.5% lower extremity fractures, 2.7% hamstring injuries) ıt was observed. 34.1% of the risk sources in the carpet fields where 976 of the injuries occurred were deficient ground, 19.4% were wet ground, 11.1% were lack of security measures, these were fall (%40,88), slip (%21,51) and impact (%19,57) caused the events. As a result, %24,9 ACL ruptures developed. When the opening and operating regulations of the sports facilities are examined, it is determined that the sources of risk that cause sports injuries are not the relevant standard and the audits are insufficient.
