Abstract (EN)
All kind of human activities are supported by consumption of fuels. The exhaustion of fuels is very dangerous for the future of humankind because of their ability to run thermal, chemical and biological processes. Therefore, a measure should be introduced to evaluate these resources. The ability to perform maximum work in the conditions of natural environment can be accepted as a measure for the evaluation of fuels. The quantity defined in such a way has been termed as exergy. Exergy analysis has been developed as a result of the application of the second law of thermodynamics in investigation of the thermodynamic imperfection of thermal processes. Exergy method is a useful tool for furthering the goal of more efficient energy-resource use. Chemical exergy expresses the exergy content of the substance at environmental temperature and pressure. In this work, the chemical exergy values of liquid fuels have been evaluated from formulae in literature and a new formula has been developed for defining the chemical exergy of the liquid fuels from their ultimate analysis.
