Abstract (EN)

In this study, effects of sublethal concentrations of thiamethoxam on antioxidant enzyme activities (SOD. superoxide dismutase and CAT: catalase), lipid peroxidation levels (malondialdehyde content), some biochemical parameters (total protein, total lipid, and total carbohydrate) of Galleria mellonella were investigated. Sublethal doses of thiamethoxam (10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 µg) were injected into the G. mellonella larvae and the effects were investigated at 24, 48, 72 and 96 hour periods. Thiamethoxam did not effect of protein content of G. mellonella . But it was caused significantly reduce lipid and carbohydrate contents when compared to the control. Antioxidant enzyme activities were significantly reduced and malondialdehyde content significantly increased after the imidacloprid injection. Consequently, imidacloprid significantly effects on homeostatic and oxidative balance and it caused the changes antioxidant enzyme system, and energy metabolism of G. mellonella,
