Abstract (EN)

In the study, it was aimed to determine what criteria should be taken as basis for the separation and mapping of the site units of scots pine forests within the boundaries of the Tohumluk forest sub-district directorate, Espiye forestry operation directorate, Giresun regional directorate of forestry. General climate characteristics of the research area are under the influence of a climate type close to the ocean (sea) climate. According to selective sampling method, location, soil and climate characteristics were determined in 97 sample plot in the research area. Sample areas were classified and site units were determined, according to characteristics determined in the field and laboratory; local site features such as land form, altitude, aspect, slope, and soil characteristics such as physiological soil depth, soil stone content, soil type and beneficial water capacity. Site units were classified according to the water and air economy because of water deficit during the growth period in the research area. As a result of the present study, separating of 21 ecological soil series and 69 site units in the research area were made. And these were classified in 4 site units as very fresh, fresh, moist and very moist according to the water and air economy.
