Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effect of the practice of release cutting in artificially-constituted Fagus orientalis Lipsky stands, which are found on the borders of Düzköy Forest Sub-district Directorate depending on Forestry Operation Directorate, on the increment and growth of that stand has been investigated. For this purpose; in pure, same-aged and artificially-constituted beech stands with homogeneous habitat conditions, 24 samples with 20x10=200 square metres have been taken from some areas where no release cutting has been conducted and which have two different treatment volumes. According to the results of stem analysis, the effects of release cutting practices, which have been carried out by two different treatment volume, on stand growth has been compared. It has been confirmed that basal area by % 19 in 2008 and %40 in 2009 was removed from the area where release cutting was being implemented. When the growth relationships are evaluated, it is confirmed that the stand treated in 2008 made stabile progress, and the sample areas treated in 2009 kept its dynamic structure in a negative acceleration. When it comes to stability, it has been seen that individual stability in areas with %19 intensity is higher than other ones, and collective stability is similar with the control and %19 intensity areas.
