Abstract (EN)

When transportation costs, high transportation capacity, little energy use, security and time are considered the most suitable transportation system is maritime transportation.Ports, however, as the beginning and ending points of maritime transportation has strategic importance. Ports play a crucial role in commercial life. From ports besides loading/unloading of goods, various duties are supplied.Depending upon increasing commerce volume to get optimum port capacity, ports must be planned well and developed. Available ports and their capacity must be used with the most effective style, for this, one must study with scientific methods and techniques. In this study by fixing the loading/unloading progress of Trabzon, Samsun, Rize and Hopa ports and the relation between Gross Domestic Product and population numbers of the cities these ports take place and Gross Domestic Product of port hinterlands, handling load amount at each port can be handled in the future is guessed. When regression analysis results, in which different scenarios are used are taken into consideration, according to optimistic scenarios it is determined that the capacity of Trabzon and Rize ports will be sufficient until 2025, the capacity of Samsun port will be inadequate until 2019, the capacity of Hopa port, however, until 2025.
