Abstract (EN)

Objective: In this study we aim to study long term quality of life of the patients admitted with severe TBI with associated brain contusions. Method: In this study we included 59 patients with TBI associated brain contusions admitted to our facility during 2010-2013.Patients follow-up lasted 6 months after admission.Patient's clinical data and short term results were evaluated and fort he assesment of quality of life QOLIBRI scale was used. Findings: Patients were followed up approx. 18.0±8.6(8-44) monthes after discharge. While patients GOS value were 4,24±0,92 at the time of discharge , final GOS value was found to show significant increase to 4,76±0,70 . Quality of life scale was applied to 51 patients out of 59 because 5 patients GOS value was 2 and 3 and 6 patients were under age six.Patients qouality of life scale values were found lower than the control group patients value. Results: While QOLIBRI quality of life scale showed important results, it is found not appropriate for all societies. In this manner there is a need for wider studies among societies. It is important to evaluate patients with TBI in a shorter time period. Patients should be under rehabilitation due to studies results.
