Abstract (EN)

Marriage migration is one of the migration forms within the women's visibility seems particularly high. This kind of immigration is different from what is called "chain migration" is known as the immigration of women who follow their migrated husband to find a job. Turkey has received female migrants predominantly from the former USSR countries for almost 30 years. In particular, the number of Russian women migrating to Turkey is increasing and this situation gives rise to social changes in the cities in which these migrant women live. In this study, migration phenomenon through marriage is investigated: the women's migration from Russia to Turkey is analyzed, and the reason why the majority of the Russian migrant women are highly educated is tried to be revealed. In this aim, interviews with experts of the topic were conducted, and the way this phenomenon is perceived in media organs of both countries were analyzed comparatively. In this study; the concepts of immigration, women migration, marriage migration, reasons driving women to migrate, and the integration problems these women have to cope with were generally evaluated.
