Abstract (EN)

It is important to evaluate reading habits and critical reading skills of university students who are always expected to gather qualified information. In this context, within the scope of this study, reading habits and critical thinking skills of freshman students are studied. In this study, the effect of several parameters, such as attitude, gender, parental education, family structure, family attitudes, periodical publication membership and the number of possesed books, on the reading habits and critical thinking skills of first year university students is assessed, in addition to the relationship between the reading habits and critical thinking skills.
