The Relatıonshıp Between The Academic Procrastination Behaviours, Dysfunctional Attitudes, Depression Levels and Self- Esteem Of University StudentThere are a lot of possible causes to determine academic procrastination behaviour among university students. This research investigated the relationship between the academic procrastination behaviour, dysfunctional attitudes, depression, self-esteem among undergraduates and with this resarch. Moreover, the relationship gender, type of faculty, duration of internet usage, education of parents were investigated. The study group consisted of 857 graduates students (615 females and 242 males) studying at Karadeniz Technical University in 2014-2015 academic year. 5 undergraduates didn't choice about gender. The data were collected with ''Academic Procrastination Scale'' developed by Çakıcı (2003), ''Dysfunctional Attitudes Scale'' developed by Weismen and Beck (1978) and adapted into Turkısh by Hisli (1989), ''Beck Depression Inventory'' devoleped by Beck (1961) adapted into Turkısh by Hisli (1988), ''Self-Esteem Scale '' developed by Rosenberg (1965) and adapted into Turkısh by Çuhadaroğlu (1986) are used. ''Personal Information Form'' which is developed by the researcher is used to get information about demographic characteristics of undergraduates. For the data analysis, SPSS 22.00 was used and the Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Co- efficient, Multiple Linear Regression, independent t test, one way ANOVA analysis techniques were applied. The result indicated, a significant relationship was found between university students' academic procrastination behaviour and dysfunctional attitudes, depression level in positive way; self-esteem in the negative way. Academic procrastination predicted by dysfunctional attitudes,depression but not by self-esteem. Furthermore, academic procrastination behaviour was differentiated according the type of faculty and duration of internet usage but there was not a significiant diference according to the gender and education of parent. Some result of this study were in line with the literatüre and some results were different. The results discussed in contex of literature and suggestions were provided.
