Abstract (EN)

This study aims to explain the effects of university students' recreation awareness on their purchasing styles. In the study, data were collected by questionnaire and kolayda sampling method and the sample of the study (N=412) is a university student. Two different scales were used in the research along with socio-demographic questions. Statistical analysis of the collected data was carried out with SPSS 23.0 program. As a result of the study, it was revealed that women's awareness level of the concept of recreation is higher than men's, and thus its impact on their purchases is greater, according to the analyses conducted as a result of the study, there is a significant difference in the unplanned sub-dimension of the purchasing style scale according to demographic results, while there is no significant difference in other sub-dimensions and the total score of the overall scale. This study has revealed that demographic variables have significant effects on university students' recreation awareness and recreational product purchasing behaviors. Future studies can examine these findings using larger sample groups and different demographic variables. In addition, it is proposed that universities organize more programs and events to increase awareness of recreational activities.
