Abstract (EN)

In this study, KTU Kanuni Campus and its immediate surroundings were chosen as the study area. In the study, it was aimed to reveal the temporal change of the relationship of the campus with the city, to evaluate it ecologically within the scope of holistic landscape planning approach, to increase its effect by ensuring its sustainability, to produce holistic landscape planning strategies, and to put forward suggestions in this direction. The temporal area changes of KTU Kanuni campus and its immediate surroundings between 1955 and 2021 were determined, and land cover/use maps were created. The findings of the study consisted of user surveys, quality maps created using GIS, and a holistic and ecological landscape analysis of the area. As a result of the data obtained, the campus and its surroundings were evaluated through ecological and holistic planning approaches and planning and management proposals that could be applied at different scales were developed. This study was created based on the lack of studies on landscape planning in university-city interaction. This creates the originality of the study, which was developed through sustainable and holistic approaches, and it is thought that this research will be a pioneer for similar planning studies.
