Abstract (EN)

Urban and urbanisation have been a matter of issue for many years. The history of the city couldn't be clarified completely due to restrictions. We learn information about outer cities in the Kingdom of Urartu from inscriptions, archaeological excavations and settlements that were identified during the excavations but not excavated. From the references of obtained antigue at the outer cities excavations indicate that people of high status and common people resided these areas. Beside the living areas, the stone based structures, rooms, halls, stores, barns, iron-workshops, garbage hols and yards were found with excavation researches. During the survey connected with the thesis study, no data were found in the lower settlements in Aznavurtepe and Kef Castles. However, previous studies and pictures taken with the drone could detect the presence of lower settlements out the bulwark of Kef Castle, is believed to have spread over a large area with places. In Anzavurtepe, the existence of a series of walls that enclose the city with external walls in a sequential state down the sitedal, proves the phenomenon of urbanisation here. Besides, it can be considered that construction of the settlement took place to ensure the dominance of agricultural lands in environment and to serve Castle.
