Abstract (EN)
In today's technology age, digital video games have taken up a large part of human life. The number of people playing digital video games, especially adopted by the younger generation, is increasing day by day. There are a variety of digital video game genres available for all tastes. Among these game types, the digital game type with the highest number of players in the world is MOBA. In the MOBA game genre, players identify themselves with the game characters. The reason for this is that the characters in the game have different life stories and playing styles. The costume designs of the game character whose life story changes in the game are also made according to these stories. In digital video games, the characters and their costumes are made by designers specializing in cartoon-animation. In this context, while designing character costumes, knowledge and experience in the field of fashion and textile design are used at a minimum. The need to determine the subject of the thesis arises at this point. Within the scope of the thesis, the design process of digital video game characters and the costume design process in textile will be examined and their differences and similarities will be revealed. Then, as a result of these similarities and differences, digital video game character costumes will be reinterpreted with the discipline of fashion design.
