Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to investigate the bacteriological water quality and pollution level in Yağlıdere Stream, Giresun. For this purpose, the surface water and sediment samples were collected monthly, from 5 stations between June 2013 and May 2014. Bacteriologically, water, and sediment samples: 22 °C and 37 °C total viable bacteria counts, water samples: total coliform bacteria, fecal coliform bacteria, fecal streptococci, E. coli, analysis were done. All of these analyses were performed according to standard methods. Water quality and pollution level in Yağlıdere Stream were assessed in accordance with Turkish legislation and international criteria. As a result of, bacteriological pollution level of surface water and sediment structure of Yağlıdere Stream can be said to threaten to disrupt ecosystem balance.
