Abstract (EN)

Today, it is known that architectural structures create spaces both inside and outside. It is the entrance spaces that establish the spatial relationship between the inside and outside of the structure. Based on this, the study was created by examining the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces in buildings through the example determined as a working area within the scope of the planning and design criteria of entrance spaces. KTU Kanuni Campus Faculty of Forestry the interior and exterior of the student entrance were selected as an example area. The reason for choosing an educational structure from structures that vary depending on the needs is to contribute to the physical and spiritual needs of young people who shape the future of societies. By using observation and survey techniques in the field of study, the demands and expectations of the users along with the problems experienced in the current state of the spaces were determined. Depending on the data obtained, two different design proposals were created in a virtual environment for existing spaces. The prepared design proposals were submitted for evaluation to an expert group of 70 people consisting of 35 interior architects and 35 landscape architects. The average values of 3,4390 given by users to existing spaces increased to 4,0553 and 4,1812 on average with prepared virtual design suggestions. Depending on the data obtained from expert evaluations, missing aspects were identified and improvements were made to the design. Finally, the contribution of the interior and exterior relations to the planning and design of the entrance spaces was discussed and proposals for the development of the participatory design process were presented.
