Abstract (EN)

This study aims to investigate the relationship between eating attitudes and behaviours, attachment styles to parents and perfectionism.This study also examines differences in eating disorders in terms of gender and sociaeconomic status of parents.The sample of the study consists of 573 stundents from different programmes of Fatih Faculty of Education, Karadeniz Technical University. A demogrophic data form, Eating Attitude Test, Scale for Views about Parents Scale and Multi Dimensional Perfectionism Scale were used to collect the data.The results showed that there is a negative and significat relationship between abnormal eating attitudes and behaviours and caring attachment style. Another result of the study showed that there is a positive relationship between abnormal eating attitudes and behaviours order and personal standarts of perfectionism. The results of study also indicated that attachment styles and subdimensions of perfectionism were found to be significant predictors of eating attitudes and behaviours. This study also indicated that there is a significant difference in eating attitudes in terms of gender and also found that eating attitudes and behaviours do not differ regarding socioeconomic status.This results were discussed in the light of revelant literature and some new recommendations were given for further studies.Key Words: Abnormal eating attitudes and behaviours, eating disorders, attachment, perfectionism
