Abstract (EN)

Ruins occurrence remains from Neolithic Age in Yenikapı result of Marmaray Metro Project archaeological excavations. Woody samples of this ruins sectioned with specially developed freezing sliding microtome. These sections were became permanent preparates and they compare with present reference preparates, wood identification atlases and books and try to identification their taxa.Within 430 wood samples only 240 samples could be sectioned. Results of the identification, Quercus spp., Juniperus spp., Ficus carica, Juglans regia, Fraxinus spp., Alnus glutinosa, Abies spp., Salix sp., Acer campestre, Ulmus minor, Castanea sativa, Taxus baccata were determined.
