Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to reveal the effects of mental and life kinetic training on the attention and concentration levels of volleyball players. Experimental research model, one of the quantitative research models, was preferred in the research. 66 volleyball players participating in the study were divided into 3 groups as mental training group (group 1) (n=22), life kinetik training group (group 2) (n=22), and control group (group 3) (n=22). In addition to the Volleyball Trainings, the 1st Group continued the 8-week mental training program, the 2nd Group continued the life kinetik training program, and the 3rd Group continued their volleyball training program. Data obtained from NeuroSky Brain Waves Mobile 2 EEG device for attention test and psychometric measurements were recorded for the 1st Group, 2nd Group and control groups (d2) before and after the application. In order to evaluate the effect of the studies, the measurements were repeated at the 12th and 16th weeks of the detraning period. The obtained data were analyzed with the SPSS 22.00 package program. After the 8-week mental and life kinetik training period of the volleyball players, the difference between the posttest, 12th and 16th week results according to the pretest measurements was statistically significant (p<0.001), while the 16th week measurements according to the control group's pretest results were found to be d2 test concentration. The difference between the scores was found to be significant. As a result, it has been revealed that mental and life kinetik trainings applied regularly and planned for 8 weeks have positive effects on attention and concentration levels in volleyball players, and life kinetik training is more effective on attention and concentration levels than mental training applications. According to the 16th week measurements of the control group, it is among the results obtained that volleyball training has positive effects on the concentration levels of the athletes. Due to the decrease in the attention and concentration scores obtained in the measurements made during the detraining period of the mental training and life kinetik group, it is recommended that such studies be carried out continuously within a certain plan in order to be more effective and permanent.
