Abstract (EN)
In the present study, studied about the Yoruks living in Teke District in the West Part of the Mediterranean Region, it has been worked to enlighten the socio-economic conditions of the errant tribes (Oymaks) and Yoruk Groups (Obas) in the 19th century, wholly using the archive documents. As Well as handling the administrative and social structures of the oymaks and obas taking place in the district, their dwelling places have also been determined. The understanding of the homes, the dwelling places of Mountain Pasture (Yaylak), shelter place (Kışlak) and güzlek, the routes, their dwelling places they used during the migration process, and the understanding of the migration of The Yoruks living their traditional Mountain Pasture (Yaylak) and shelter place (Kışlak) lives, have been studied in the present study. At the same time, the homes and the tools they have used, have been mentioned in detail. Yoruks had a very important number of population and homes in the 19th century; as, they weren?t obliged compulsory settling, they dwelled themselves to that region. Having great amount of importance in terms of taxing and soldiers, had some quarrels with the administrators in the region because of the increasing demand of the administration, while paying their taxes of the products they produced and the animals they fed, and joining the army. In addition to these, the problems due to the damages to the farming areas, the disagreements because of Mountain Pastures (Yaylak), shelter places (Kışlak), and the quarrels related to the land they owned and debts and demands between Yoruks and the dwellers have been very effective. While giving great contributions to the country economy with the animals they fed and with the fresh product, they also supplied the food and raw material needs of the flags (Sancaks) and around them, and even they played great role in transportation using the animals they fed. They still perpetuate the old Turkish Culture among them in terms of their family relations, nourishment, and clothes and even leathership and weaving-textile works. At the same time, having very rich Folk Music Culture, The Teke Yoruks have preserved their cultural owning and they still keep their ties to the Turkish Culture.
