Abstract (EN)

Currently, due to fast improvements in science and technology and due to technology becoming an important production factor; countries incrementally give importance in production, usage and propagation of technology. The concept that technology is one of the important parameters of sustainable economical growth caused an empirical literature focusing on determining of effects of technological developments on employment to form.The aim of this study is to find out ?whether technology increases or decreases employment?. For this purpose, the effects of technology on employment have been investigated.The effects of technological change speed to employees in agriculture, industry and service sectors in Turkey obtained after examining the empirical researches made both in Turkey and the World within of possibilities, effects of technological development rate determined by Solow Residual calculated by using Cobb-Douglas production function parallel with inner growth applications in recent years were examined in 1990-2008 period.Results indicate that the most affected parameter affected by technological change speed and the share of Research-Development Costs in GDP is agriculture sector in long term. According to obtained results, long-term technological developments can be seen in GDP, so it can be said that employees working in industrial sector causes an increase in productivity and employment lost by this productivity increase heads towards to service sector. It is not wrong to represent those policies for improving industrial sector is one of the important reasons for employment lost in agriculture sector.
