Abstract (EN)

This thesis explores the effectiveness of English language teaching materials for second- grade students, focusing on their alignment with developmental needs, engagement capabilities, cultural representation, and adherence to curriculum goals. Through, a detailed checklist evaluation, and interviews with teachers, this study provides a nuanced understanding of the materials' strengths and weaknesses from both a pedagogical and practical perspective. The findings reveal deficiencies in cultural content and authenticity, underscoring the need for materials that encompass a broader, more inclusive representation of Englishspeaking cultures. Moreover, the lack of supplementary materials for teachers and students emerges as a significant gap, indicating the necessity for additional resources to support effective teaching and learning. Recommendations for future materials include enhancing cultural representation, diversifying learning activities, providing comprehensive teacher support, and incorporating technology and multimedia resources. This thesis concludes by emphasizing the critical role of well-designed English language teaching materials in fostering a holistic and enriching language learning experience. It calls for ongoing collaboration among educators, curriculum developers, and policymakers to refine and adapt teaching resources, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of young language learners.
