Abstract (EN)
Objective: In this study, we aimed to evaluate the relationship between the level of knowledge about menopause and healthy lifestyle behaviors in premenopausal women. Method: The study was conducted from 01 April 2020 to 01 June 2020 on healthy women via an online questionnaire via WhatsApp and Facebook. The questionnaire, which consists of 42 questions and 6 subsections, and analyzed the HLBSII scale were applied. The data was evaluated using the SPSS Windows version 24.0 software and p <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: 382 women participated in the study. It was observed that 119 (31.2%) were in the 25-29 age group, 243(63.6%) were university graduates, 257(67.5%) were married and 130(34.1%) were childless. 348(91.1%) of the participants thought that menopause is a normal condition. It was observed that the level of menopausal knowledge was correlated with education level, age group, number of children, occupation and household income. Mean healthy lifestyle scores in our study were found moderate level (133.38 ± 22.09). The highest score was obtained from the spiritual development subscale (27.01 ± 4.53) and the lowest score from the physical activity subscale (16.41 ± 4.87). There was a significant difference between spiritual development and interpersonal interpersonal communication sub- dimensions with age groups, physical activity, spiritual development, stress management and interpersonal interpersonal communication sub-dimensions with profession, physical activity and nutrition sub-dimensions with number of children, stress management sub-dimension with marital status, and nutrition, spiritual development, interpersonal interpersonal communication and stress management sub-dimensions with smoking. A correlation was found between the level of menopausal knowledge and HLBS in the subdimension of interpersonal interpersonal communication(p<0,05; r=0,130). Conclusion: As a result of our study, the correlation between the level of menopausal knowledge and the subscale of interpersonal relationships shows that the healthy lifestyle behaviors of women with high menopausal knowledge levels are somewhat deficient. Particularly, family physicians' individual-centered and comprehensive approaches can bring women who will shape the society with their children to a higher level in terms of healthy lifestyle behaviors.
